Understanding Your Skin Tone

Have you ever walked up to a foundation counter and have no clue of which color best suits you? So you turn to the employee behind the counter for help because you would think they are the savvy’s and they end up referring a foundation color that is either too light or too dark for you. I can relate! My very first time ever purchasing a foundation was from MAC at a Macys counter, I never tried it on at the store because I trusted the nice lady who helped me. Sadly most of these people behind a beauty counter are just a salesperson, and know just as much as the clients who go looking for help. Anyways So I waited until getting home to see how this foundation looked and Lord knows how dark that thing was on my face! That turned out to be a life learning experience. It is good to know what your complexion, and undertones are. It took me a while to understand but with research done I can now say I trust myself when I go get foundations or powders on my own instead of relying and hoping someone else would help.

What is your Complexion?
Complexion also known as skin tone is how your skin appears to be. Light, Medium, Dark.

What is your Undertone?
Undertone is the underlying color of your skin. Warm (green), Cool (blue), or Neutral (a mix of both)

How do I figure out which undertone I am?
My advice is to look at your veins on your wrist. If they appear to be green you are a warm undertone, if they are bluish you are cool undertone and if they appear to be a mixture of both colors then you are neutral. If your veins don’t really pop up you can always gently press your thumb into the skin of the wrist and you will see them appear.

If some of you are wondering, I happen to be a light/medium warm toned. On days when I am tanned I just stick to mediurm warm.Understanding these can be a little tricky but I promise it won’t take long to get the hang of it. This is my way of showing it and what has worked best for me.I tried my best and I hope I helped! xoxo

Lights,Camera,Flawless!

First off Happy New Years to all! I hope everyone is off to a great start for 2015! I am so ecstatic about this year already because great events have taken place in so little time. One of the events happened to be doing hair & make-up for the models of the new online woman apparel store, Lush Rebel. It was such an honor and so much fun working with the team who happen to be my closest friends. Knowing it was pretty much everyone's first time for their part of the project made it nerve wrecking, exciting, yet so accomplishing all at the same time!  Surely this was my first time doing hair & make-up for a photo-shoot, I tried to keep it natural, since the whole purpose of the photos is for clothing. The models were definitely looking flawless and stunning! Below are some head-shots of the models. August Favorites

My very first “Favorites” is here!!! This month I made some great beauty discoveries that have left me with great satisfaction. I couldn’t wait to share my enthusiasm with you guys! I will tell you all about the details below! Lets start. Do you love the smell of coconut and love to feel the touch of soft hair through your fingers? Then you need to make your way over to these lovely creamy Herbal Essences Hello Hydration moisturizing shampoo and conditioner! I have not been using these products for long, but 2 weeks was all it took for me to fall in love. The smell, refreshing feeling, softness, and most importantly moisture and hydration this leaves me with has me smitten. Everything the bottle says around such as 100% softer hair within 1 wash, is true. Also since this contains coconut, a fun fact to know about the fruit is that it benefits your hair to grow! I will definitely stick around these products for a while.   When it comes to face cleansers I am ve...
